James Macrae

With 24 years of experience in real estate management consulting, development and construction, James’ expertise is representing owners, developers and investors in large scale and complex developments, construction and P3 projects. Prior to launching verTerra, James worked for national facility management, project management, consulting and construction organizations.

His expertise includes program and project management, risk management, construction planning and procurement, professional and stakeholder team assembly and leadership, real estate development, integrated design and transition management.

James is an advocate and supporter for raising awareness for mental health in the Ottawa region. He is president elect (2013-2016) of the Royal Ottawa Hospital Volunteer Association which assists Royal Ottawa Health Care Groups with improving patients’ health and well-being. He is also a proud supporter of the annual Cracking-up the Capital Comedy Festival which raises funds in support of local mental health initiatives.

Judy Klenik

Judy has 16 years of experience in commercial real estate project management and consulting. Prior to launching verTerra, Judy worked for national project management and facility management organizations working with both public and private sector clients.

Her expertise is in program planning and execution, client and stakeholder management, portfolio analysis, feasibility studies, business case development, and team communications, facilitation and leadership. Judy’s project management experience includes sustainable design for LEED projects, campus life-cycle planning, and expansion and consolidation programs.

Judy is a proud recipient of Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 award for 2012 as presented by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce. She is also actively involved in the community as volunteer and past vice president (2011/12, 2013/14) of the Ottawa Region Chapter Canada Green Building Council and former volunteer with the Christie Lake Kids organization.
